HOT AND HEARTY CHOWDER
2/3 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. celery, diced
1 1/4 c. onions, chopped
2 1/2 c. potatoes, diced
2 1/2 c. boiling water
1 (# 10) can cream style corn
2 1/2 qts. milk
1 (# 5) can tomato soup
Salt, pepper as needed
1 tbsp. chicken base
Melt shortening and cook onions and celery until tender. Put in potatoes and water and cook until tender. Put in corn and salt. Bring to boil. Add tomato soup and chicken base. Season. Heat, but do not bring to a boil. Serves 50.
