PASTEL PATTIES


Beat 1/3 cup Karo light corn syrup, 1/3 cup margarine, 1 teaspoon vanilla or 1 teaspoon rum extract and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix in 1 pound confectioners' sugar. Knead until smooth. Tint with food color. Shape into patties; top with nuts or nut halves. Makes about 50.
