BARBEQUE SAUCE FOR CHICKEN


2/3 c. butter or margarine

2 tbsp. sugar

1 tbsp. salt

2/3 c. water or stock

Few grains of cayenne pepper

2 tbsp. chopped pickle (optional)

2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice

1/4 c. vinegar

1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce

2 tbsp. flour

Melt butter and combine with all dry ingredients. Stir until well blended. Remove from heat. Combine remaining ingredients and gradually stir into butter. Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth. Makes enough for 2 chickens.
