BOOKBINDER'S PASTE
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. flour
1/4 tsp. alum (powdered)
1/3 c. water
Mix the dry ingredients. Add water slowly. Stir to remove lumps. Cook in a double boiler over low heat. Stir constantly. Remove from heat when begins to thicken. Keep covered. Thin with water when necessary.
